ABOUT ME

ABOUT ME

When I am not working at Cook Library, you can often find me with my violin in hand. Back home in Louisiana, I have been playing violin for various events such as Masses, weddings, and parties since I was eleven years old. I also teach private violin lessons because it combines my passion for teaching with my love of violin. If you would like to know more about my violin work, click here to read a summary of my violin experience.

My name is Lily Martinez and I am a Junior studying Library and Information Science at the University of Southern Mississippi. I am from Southern Louisiana.

I entered USM as a Freshman attending with the full tuition Academic Excellence Scholarship, the Orchestra Service Award Scholarship, and an Honors College Scholar Award. I have since left the Honors College and the Symphony Orchestra to focus on other work and career opportunities but completed all their respective classes with A’s. I am still receiving the full tuition scholarship.
